Cloud Escape Kits
Exploring local conversion of a second-generation Nest Mini: a useful device with less dependence on its original cloud.
Last documented / MAY 2026
Generated engineering vision. This conceptual enclosure does not depict a converted Nest Mini.
The direction
Cloud Escape Kits explores replacement hardware that gives cloud-dependent home devices a path to local operation. The initial focus is Nest Mini Gen 2: understanding the original hardware, measuring physical constraints and investigating a replacement board. A working conversion is not verified.
